Ranaut was travelling from Himachal as her flight was cancelled when this incident took place.
The farmers claimed to have stopped her for around two hours on Chandigarh-Kulu Manali National Highway. when she was returning from Himachal Pradesh and claimed her flight was cancelled. Ropar Kirti Kisan Morcha leader Veer Singh said, “We gheraoed the actor around 2.15pm and let her go around 4pm, only after she apologised to the farmers for her comments against them. On her request, a group of female farmers went near her car for talks, when the actor apologised. It was a peaceful protest and no damage was done to her car. A BJP leader from UP, who was also passing by and was just ahead of the actor’s car, was also gheraoed by farmers and his number plate taken off, after which he was allowed to go.” Kangana had also shared the incident on her Instagram account, alleging “a mob of anti-social elements who are claiming to be farmers have gheraoed and hurling abuses on me”. She claimed the situation would have been different in case there was no security with her. She said despite the presence of police, she was not allowed to move. SHO Kiratpur Sahib, inspector Sumit Mor, said her car was blocked for around one hour. SSP Vivek Sheel Soni said, “No damage was done to the car.
