As per the latest figures, the hill state now has 864 active cases.
Positive cases reported during the day include one from Bilaspur, five from Chamba, eight from Hamirpur, 30 from Kangra, four from Mandi, 10 from Shimla, four from Solan and 12 from Una district.
People coming from high-risk countries to Kangra must undergo seven-day quarantine
Amid the rising concerns over the new Omicron variant of coronavirus the Kangra district has made seven-day quarantine mandatory for people coming from Europe, United Kingdom, South Africa, Brazil, Bangladesh, Botswana, China, Mauritius, New Zealand, Zimbabwe, Singapore, Hong Kong and Israel.
Kangra district, especially Dharamshala and Mcleodganj, witnesses higher footfall of foreign nationals and the district is taking advanced measures to tackle any suspected case of Omicron arriving from the high-risk countries.
Deputy commissioner Dr Nipun Jindal said that people coming from these countries will be subjected to RT-PCR test at the airport. He said that the officers of Panchayati Raj Department, Urban Development Department have also been asked to ensure that people coming such countries are monitored under quarantine so that there is no risk of virus infection at any stage.
