Haryana: Ambala City Municipal Corporation recovers Rs 40 lakh pending arrear from shopkeepers, about Rs 4.50 crore still pending | Chandigarh News



AMBALA: Ambala City Municipal Corporation (MC) recovered pending arrear of Rs 40 lakh from the shopkeepers in Adarsh Market, Durga Market, and Super Market opposite the city bus stand in cloth market area.
Ambala City MC commissioner Dhirendra Khadgata said, a large amount of arrears is pending against the shopkeepers and strict instructions were given to concerned officials to recover these amounts.
“The rent section of Ambala City MC has made a recovery of Rs 40 lakh. Whichever shopkeepers are still not paying the arrears, further action will be initiated against them to seal their shops”, said Dhirendra Khadgata, in his orders to the MC officials.
An official from the rent section told that the arrears of about Rd 4.50 crore are still pending against the shopkeepers in the Ambala City MC area and efforts are being made to recover it.
On the other side, Ambala City MC has also taken possession of about 13 acres of Panchayati land of Kakru village, which was included in MC in the recent past, and demarcated the area with barbed wires and concrete pillars.
To a query, Ambala City MC officials said as of now only the land at Kakru village has been taken into possession and no plans have been made yet to utilise it.
